PARSIPPANY, July 10, 2006 — Quadrant
HealthCom Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Neal Flomenbaum has joined
Emergency Medicine® as Editor-in-Chief.
Dr. Flomenbaum brings a wealth of emergency department expertise and
leadership to Emergency Medicine®. He is Emergency Physician-in-Chief
at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and a Professor of
Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is also Medical
Director of New York-Presbyterian’s EMS system.
Dr. Flomenbaum is a senior editor and author of Goldfrank’s Toxicologic
Emergencies (six editions) and Emergency Diagnostic Testing (two editions).
He has coauthored many review articles and peer-reviewed clinical research
papers. Dr. Flomenbaum has lectured widely on clinical toxicology, chemical
and biological terrorism, and ethical dilemmas in the emergency department.
He has also been a consultant to several regional poison centers. In
January 2005, he established a new and unique Geriatric Emergency Medicine
Fellowship Program at New York-Presbyterian.
“I am confident that Emergency Medicine®, like our specialty,
will be characterized in the months and years to come by the expression ‘Never
a dull moment,’” Dr. Flomenbaum writes in his first editorial
in the June issue. “This will be an exciting journey into the future
of emergency medicine.”
